last name

im seperated from my husband and waiting on divorce to follow can i go back using my maiden name before divorce is filled ??

In California a person can change their name without a court order, so long as the purpose in doing so is not for the purpose of committing fruad. Therefore is would seem that there is no reason for you not to get a head start. Before doing this be sure that it will not complicate the transfer of community property into your name.
