Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Colorado

Cause for being sued?

If I run a comedy club and the headliner is named ''Chinaman'' (and is Chinese... and is funny...) are there any grounds for a lawsuit for discrimination, or does the first ammendment apply????

I don't think you have anything to worry about. It's not against the law to "discriminate" - eg. you can be the biggest bigot in the world; it's illegal to subject persons to different treatment as a result of race, sex, etc. - like denying them a promotion, raise, hire, renting a room, letting them eat in your restaurant, etc. See the difference? A comedy show isn't denying anyone a benefit based on race - and it is clearly protected speech in my opinion.
