Re: Limits to statute of limitations

In Kentucky there is a one year statute of limitations on bringing a misdemeanor charge. Once the charge is brought, there is no time limit as to how long it can remain resolved. This depends on the court and how often it requires the parties to clear up the cases. There is no limiitation on bringing a felony case. A first or second offense DUI is a misdemeanor offense however it is charged when the police officer writes the citation and the one year period never really gets a chance to begin.
