Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

ATV vs, Truck , do I have a chance to sue?

I was riding my 4-wheeler illegally on a fire road with a speed limit of 55mph. I glanced over my shoulder in preperation for a u-turn. I didn't see any traffic. I made my u-tirn and in mid turn I saw a pickup truck coming at me. He locked up his tires and skidded about 35+ feet and hit me.

I had surgery for a broken leg. I now have a rod in my leg, and 2-3 months off work. I also recieved 2 tickets, 1 for riding an atv in the wrong area, and the other is careless driving.

Can I take the truck driver to court? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The answer is "maybe". You might have a case but we need more facts. Your injuries are severe enough to warrant a closer look. In Michigan, you need damages and liability to bring a case. You certainly have the damages (injuries) but liability is the big question mark but we certainly believe this case should be reviewed.
