Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

Civil Suit for Crdit Card Debt

I am currently working with a credit counseling group in Colorado for credit card debt. The credit counseling group failed to negotiate one of my credit cards and now the credit card company has hired an attorney in my state and have a civil suit against me. They offered their attorney services but, at this point, I do not feel comfortable with them or their services. I would like to know my legal options as to how I can possibly resolve this matter so we can avoid going to court.

Re: Civil Suit for Crdit Card Debt

My office handles this type of thing all the time. Generally, we send the other attorney a letter and start the process for you. You must respond to the lawsuit or else they will simply take judgment for the full amount.

My fees are reasonable and I've been doing this for more than 15 years.

Pay them what they want, call them and work something out by yourself or get your own attorney to do that for you. Those are all of your options as I see them.
