Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York

Bank Accout Lien

There is a lien put on my bank account as the result of a judgement entered aganist me. The amount of the lien is $10,542 which is twice the amount of the judgement pklus fees. The lien was put on my account over two months ago. I want to pay the judgement and have the lien taken off my accout. How do I percede. I thought that the monies would just be awarded since there was a judgement. To date the funds have not been taken out of my account.

Re: Bank Accout Lien

Contact the lawfirm that placed the lien to work out settlement parameters. The bank may not turn the money over without a different court order.

Good Luck
