Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

I came to US with a visitor visa about 7 years ago, now I just got married with a US citizen. I would like to know what are the steps to take to get my green card so I can be able to visit my family next year? Thank you

You might be eligible to apply for adjustment of status (green card) without having to depart the USA. First of all, you have to make sure that you are eligible for adjusyment of status and not inadmissible. Secondly, your USA citizen spouse will need to petition (I-130) and sponsor you (Affidavit of Support). All other applications and supporting documents must be submitted together to the USCIS.

I would need more information regarding your particular case before I could comment on it properly.

However, what I can say that is that you need to file a petition for your green card.

An immigration attorney will be able to assist you with it or you can file it yourself with the immigration service.
