If I am working for an employer, are they allowed to give out any information about me to anyone they choose to? Including name, address, phone number etc.

More information is needed. If a stranger walked from street and wanted the name, address, and phone number of all employees, the employer should deny the request. You may have legal action against the employer for not protecting your private information. However, more information is needed.
