Re: loss of use

If it was me I'd be suing to get the car back. As part of that action you could sue for loss of use. However, the action would be under the regulations for car repair shops. Having read the regs there are lots of ways to run afoul of the regs.

Have they given you any reason why they haven't completed the job?
