Did you promptly report the work injury to your employer (within 5 days of the incident)? If yes, your employer has a legal duty to report the injury to the PA Worker's Comp Bureau. There is a special form for this. Your employer or its worker's comp insurer must pay the medical bills related to your work injury. Did you obtain a written document from your doctor that you were disabled for 3 days? If not, get it & give it to your employer. Make sure you keep a copy. You can't get the worker's comp ins co to pay for your lost wages if you only miss 3 days. There is a 1 week waiting period unless you miss 2 weeks or more. If you miss 2 weeks or more worker's comp will then pay you back form day 1. In your case, you have to use sick time if available if you only miss 3 days.
