Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

default renter

We have a person who was a houseguest for a number of months. When we moved in April, he agreed to stay as a renter. Contract was signed May 1 but no money recieved, even now. He has given many excuses and empty promises. He now plans to fight us and stay as long as possible as a squatter. His personal belongings can fit in 2 duffle bags, no furniture. He has recorded pieces of phone conversations to twist our words and has lied many times. It is our understanding that since no money was given at the time the contract was signed or since, the contract is void. We need advice on how to get him out as quickly as possible.

Deliver to him the proper 3-day written notice and if he fails to vacate, file a forcible entry and detainer at the office ofthe local justice of the peace. They will have complete instructions in that office.
