Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Mother dies no will

My mothers recently passed in Texas. And no "will" has been recovered. My grandmother has said from day one that she is in charge of my mothers estate. I know if there is no will she is not incharge of nothing. my mother had two children me age 25 and my brother age 16. Now the family wants me to sign a form giving up my rights to my mother estate. My question is if I signed this form would my brother have to sign something also or will it fall on his gaurdian? How would this work?

Re: Mother dies no will

Don't sign anything. Go to a probate attorney in your area and request that they file the Petition for Administration without a Will.
