Title company error

I owned a house with a friend and then refinanced and had the title company change the deed to my own name. the title company LOST the originals (they have the copies) and NEVER filed the originals with my county court office. the court will not accept the copies and the ''friend'' will not resign the papers. I know the title company will have to sue her to resign the papers, but what are my options to sue the title company for their error?

This may depend on what the consequences are to you before she signs. Also, what, if any, consideration did she receive for agreeing to relinquish an interest in the property?
