Legal Question in Family Law in California

I was in a 3 year relationship being supported 100 percent by ex living with him in 3 different residences he made a promise thru texts and emails he would take care of me forever then he left me for someone else and stopped support as of a couple days ago. he is my ex fiance who called off the wedding twice on me

is he obligated to take care of me? since he was an ex boyfriend?... he had me give up my job 3 years ago. He has always deposited funds in my account and even since we broke up 3 months ago he sent an email saying he would deposit yearly forever

I just received a call he married and will no longer be taking care of me

Typically an ex girlfriend has no legal rights. There may be contractual rights if he borrowed money or you purchased property together, but there are no legal rights or duties of support for non marital cohabitation.

The family law facilitator in your local county can help self represented individuals.

Please contact an attorney in your area prior to taking any legal action.

Good luck,
