Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

I am trying to marry a woman from Taiwan and I currently live in the US. Which country would it be best, in terms of legal processing, for us to get married in? From that step do we need to apply for Fiance VISA or greencard? How long should the process take? How long will it be before she can work?

For a fiancee visa, you need to travel abroad to meet her in person. Then, you can return to the US and file a Fiancee visa petition. Fiancee visa is for an engaged person (not married yet). When she gets a Fiancee visa, she can come to USA and you two can get married in the United States, and then apply for her green card and a work permit.

For K1 (fiancee) visa, you should have physically met your fiancee within the past 2 years. Then the K1 petition is filed with the USCIS, and upon approval the U.S. Consulate in Taiwan will issue K1 visa stamp to allow the fiancee to enter the U.S. for the purpose of marrying the sponsoring U.S. citizen within 90 days of entry.

You may go ahead with the K-1 fiancee assuming you've met her at least once in person within the last 2 years.
