Legal Question in Employment Law in California

As an employee for a US company in CA do I have a right to access all information held about me by my employer? for example copy of notes taken during meetings about me when i wasn't in attendance?

You have a right to your official employment file. Anything in the file must be provided. If it did not get into your file, you do not have a right to it.

No. You are entitled only to copies of anything you signed. You can ask to 'see' your file, but that is at their discretion. In a lawsuit, you could subpoena the file.
