Custody

Ny ex-wife wants to move 2500 miles away. What is my legal right to keep my son with me. How far are the legally allowed to move?

In Pennsylvania, if a parent wants to move out of the state (there is not a mileage restriction), that parent must file a petition to relocate with the court prior to the move. If that parent fails to do so, the other parent can then file a petition for contempt of a prior court custody order if the custodial parent does in fact relocate with the child. If you do not have a custody order, then I suggest that you immediately file a petition to determine the legal custody arrangement.
