Legal Question in Family Law in Delaware

Desperate-Please Help
Hello, i was married on 5/17/89. i found out that my husband 1st divorce was not finalized until 6/19/89. so does that make my marriage to him legal. i have obtained a copy of my ex's divorce decree from his 1st marriage.i was suppose to been married to him for ten years. we seperated in 4/98. do i have to obtain a divorce or is it ok to take the decree to the justice of the peace and show them the proof that my marriage was never legal. is that suffice. we were together for ten years. i we seperated in 4/98. he lives in nc. i spoke with a lawyer for about 20min, but his fee was $750, which i cannot afford, i am a single parent with two children. so i went to family court and picked up the divorce packet. i'm not sure what needs to be done. i would like to marry my fiance' in about two months, so i need some incite on what to do. PLEASE HELP!!

You need a Divorce, per the laws of the State, in which you are a resident.

You should avoid complicating matters concerning your spouse and your divorce.
