Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Florida

how do you set the monetary amount in a lawsuit

In filing a lawsuit. How do you come up with a figure in the law suit. For example someone files a $30 million lawsuite against a company for discrimination. How do they come up with that figure? Is there a formula or the plantiff just say I want to file for that amount?

There are both formulae and estimates. Check with a local attorney for advice on how much is appropriate.
