Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
Discrimination and harrassment
My wife and I live in a mobile home which we own. it is in a trailer park in Florida. The owner of the park changes rules and makes new rules and does not report these changes or ammendments to the Florida Mobile home Division as required by state law. My neighbor has filed a lawsuit against the owner, a class action suit. the owner found out we signed on as a plaintiff in the lawsuit. Since then, he has been harrassing my wife and I. We recently bred our dog a chihuaha, and she had a litter of 3 pups. We gave one away, sold another one, but cannot sell the third one because of a medical problem with it. The owner sent us a letter demanding we get rid of the pup because that made it 3 pets that we have and against his park rules. But, his rule with pets is that all residents may have only one pet. There are many other residents with 2, 3, and more pets (dogs mostly, and cats too). Is this discrimination? His lease isn't even registered with FL mobile home division as required by law. We bred our dog once then had her spayed. Owner says it is a buisness and against the rules so we have 2 strikes against us & 1 more he will evict us. My wife checked the laws it is NOT a buisness. We lost money after vet bills. Can you help us?

Re: Discrimination and harrassment
Yes, the statute provides against discrimination of one owner versus others in a park. You should consult a local attorney or my office to discuss in more detail.
