refund of deposit in home sale

we signed a contract to purchase a home fsbo 6 months ago and it was contingent upon us selling our home. due to unforseen cercumstances and the fact we could not sell our home we had to get out of the contract. Are we entitled to a refund due to the fact it was contingent on the sale of our current home?
