Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Georgia

Home Rental

My stepfather recently passed away. He and my mother lived in a house they were renting. The two were listed as tenants and there was a signature line for both. However, only he signed. Is my mother responsible for any outstandings? She is in the process of moving out immediately because she will not be able to pay the monthly rental fee going forward. The state is Georgia.

Re: Home Rental

Possibly. She could be deemed to have agreed to the terms of the lease by her actions (ie, living there) and accepting performance by the landlord under the lease. It would be wise to reach an agreement with the landlord.
