"I was hurt on the job in February 2012 due too a fault of my employer and had a total knee replacement in June. My doctor release me to return to work Oct.1 and my employer called me Sept.28 and laid me off. Can I file a case against my former employer."

You can file if you can show they fired you because you filed a workers' compensation claim. You might also be able to file under FMLA and ADA.
