Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

minor child being sued

17 year old daughter at fault for accident. Other driver should have been sited for failure to yield, but small town-everyone knows each other-Her dad's insurance (he owns car, were divorced) settled property damage at 80%- now daughter is being sued by the guy she hit (50,000+ for injury) and wife (50,000+ for loss of consortion) He has at least 11 other PI lawsuits where he has been the plaintiff. Since her (dad's)insurance settled claim are they required to defend her in court? I din't see that the plaintiffs are hoping to gain financially from a 17 year old girl-no assets to speak of.
