work injury resulting in loss of job

i was hurt at work by a piece of equipment that has since been replaced. i have a workers comp. claim and am waiting for a settlement. whati want to know is can i sue or get compensation from the manufacturer of the equipment. i complained about it for some time before the accident and they kept saying nothing was wrong but soon after my accident it was

replaced because it had been found to have problems
