i am 65 i was rear ended i am on social security and

not working i received back and neck injuries plus a

separated collar bone at the time of the accident i was working about four hours a day putting an addition

on my camper landscaping and other improvments on the

property i live on and recently bought the collar bone is healing slowly and its 4 mounths since the accident and i havnt been able to work on my property

plus i may need an operation am i entitled to any compensation from my insurance company as far as my lost time is concerned

Assuming the accident was not your fault, which seems likely given that

you were rear-ended, you are entitled to recover for your injuries, including

lost work time and pain and suffering. Kentucky is a "no fault" insurance

state, so you must reach a certain threshold before you can sue the driver of

the other car. (Otherwise, you collect from your own insurance carrier).

While it will not be as easy to quantify how much you should receive from "lost

work" because you are retired, you can recover for your "lost time." Your lawyer

will need to push hard to insure you are treated fairly as a retiree.
