Legal Question in Personal Injury in Kentucky

my son was injured at his elementary school

my 8yr old son had a removable tatto put on his face at school, it was a school wide perticipation. It caused the skin on the area the tatoo was put on to peal off. My insurance has coverd the cost, but the school gave me some papers to file for their insurance to cover it. My son may have a scare left on his face after it has healed. The doctor wants to see him in another year, but I feel his face is permantly scared. Are their any financial damages I can recover for my son? He is self concious about the mark on his face at this time. Any leagal advice will be greatly appreciated.

Re: my son was injured at his elementary school

Given that there is apparently a scar, there may be the possibility that you can recover some financial compensation, particularly given the doctor's desire to see the injury again in a year. Factors that may bear on the issue of damages include whether the parents had knowledge and consented to the activity and where, exactly, the scar is. A small scar on someone's upper arm may not be much; a larger scar in a more prominent position ... say your son's cheek or forehead ... may be a different matter.
