Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

My husband and I have been married 12 years. He has given me many reasons no to trust him over the years. Now he wants me to sign our house over to him, he says it's so that he can get a reverse mortgage on the home. If I did this would it limit my rights as to what I would be entitled to if we were to divorce at some time in the future.

He's just given you another reason not to trust him. Don't do it. Although the house would still be marital property, it would be his property. In divorce, you could receive an equitable share of its value, but he could evict you, he could encumber the property and take equity out, and the court would not have the ability to transfer the hosue to you. If one of you is over age 62, you can apply for a reverse mortgage, but do you even want one, since this would reduce the equity in the house? You need to consult with competent domestic relations counsel.
