Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

moving states

How long after my ex and I both leave the state do I have to wait until I can file our custody/child support order in a new state? I heard from someone that I have to wait 6 months after the last one of us leaves until I can file to have the jurisdiction changed. Is this true?

Re: moving states

The general rule is where the child is residing. If the child has resided in the new state for 6 months, a new "home state" can be established by enrolling the order in the new state.
