Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

My house has a drain pipe that runs underground from the gutter to the street. At some point in the last couple of years either comcast or verizon broke that pipe off while running new lines. The water has been backing up and seeping into my basement ever since. What if any legal recourse do I have?

First, check with your homeowner's policy to see if you have any coverage for this. If not, you'll need to find out which of these companies is responsible, and then make a claim against them, asking them to repair the damage. Get an estimate of the repair cost if they won't accept your claim.
