Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota
credit card liability
My wife has a credit card in her name only and it recently charged off without my knowledge. As her husband, can I be held liable for the debt and could it affect my credit rating?

Re: credit card liability
If the card was not used for "necessities" then under Minnesota law you would not be automatically liable for the debt.
It is possible that creditors could try to seize some jointly owned assets once the creditor has a judgment.
