Legal Question in Immigration Law in Minnesota
I'm an Au Pair. I came to USA two years ago. I want to apply for student visa, because I've been enrolled in school ( American college ) since I came here. I was wondering what are the chances and terms for getting my visa? I have a clean criminal record and I'm not involved in any kind of illegal activity. Thanks!! :)

Are you still in a valid J-1 status? If not, when your Au Pair program had ended?
If you are out of status, you are not eligible for a change of status to F-1 Student status. Having no criminal record doesn't excuse unlawful presence (if it's a case).
Only if you are still in a valid status, can you request change of status from J1 to F1.
