Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Montana
i am curious, if, with special conditions, my child support total can be closed with a settlement? a lower and one time total? state is Montana

"Closed" -- no, you can't 'close' a child support case until the child reaches majority and any other condition require by statute or court order.
In general, settling future support is rarely done but not unheard of. If the child's or custodial parent's circumstances change and recalculation results in a higher support amount, the payor is liable for the higher amount. You would likely have to pay the difference between the settled monthly and the new monthly payment.
If you mean that you owe an arrearage and you want to settle for a lower total re-payment amount, I have seen it happen when the receiving parent agrees and the court approves.
