Expected sentencing in vehicular manslaughter

A drunk driver also under the influence of illegal drugs kills a family in a crash. It is discovered that the driver's car had been hampered with creating faulty steering. What kind of sentencing could be expected for the driver since she was DUI?

Re: Expected sentencing in vehicular manslaughter

Penal Code 191.5 provides that the 1st offense for "gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated is punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for 4, 6, or 10 years."

If the person has a prior drunk driving or other conviction, then they could be facing "imprisonment in the state prison for a term of 15 years to life."

Obviously, this driver needs competent counsel to represent them, and soon. Contact me if interested in discussing the facts, defenses and fees involved.
