communication of causing annoyance and alarm filed

I had a run in with a long time business rival - who had previously jostled me and attampted to snatch soemthing from my hands - I had stated to him never to touch me again at which time he called the police and filed a complaint NJS 2C.33 4A for causing annoyance and alarm - I never threatened him will physical harm - I just told him in a firm amnner never to touch me again - Do I need a lawyer and if it's my word against his should I be worried about criminal charges. thanks for any info.

If he filed a complaint you are going to have to defend yourself in court or face the consequences. You have not given much in the way of facts but you should treat this matter seriously and consult with an attorney ASAP.

I would get an attorney and get real involved in this. Right now he is pushing the action, and you need to establish you are not going to be pushed around (no pun intended). Good luck.
