Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
complaint against police officer
I filed a complaint against a police officer in July (illegal entry into a residence). I just got a letter stating the IA investigation was concluded and my complaint was unfounded. I was given 10 days to submit anymore info I might have otherwise the case was closed. What I'd like to know is, if I am privvy to any of the information that was discovered by the investigation. Like what the officer said, what questions were asked? What did the investigation entail. I am not satisfied with the result since I did not get an explanation as to what their decision was based on.

There's not enough detail here as to the reason for your complaint. Did the cop damage anything? Was this a boyfriend/ girlfriend thing? Was the cop looking for drugs?
Re: complaint against police officer
What is your goal here? If you are going to sue the police, sue them. If you want to upset them to the point where they keep harassing you, you are doing a good job.
Re: complaint against police officer
Your not likely to get any help from the police. Why would you be going through all this, unless its to suppress evidence. If thats the case, don't waste your time.
Re: complaint against police officer
I suggest that you have an attorney write to the county prosecutor and the
internal affairs investigator, seeking
an explanation for the finding and providing a full explanation of what happened from your point of view.
Call me if you like.
