Legal Question in Personal Injury in New Jersey
(INFO) When I was 7 I was in a horrible car accident. My mom was driving a Plymouth neon while we were rear ended by a van. My brother , uncle, and god mother were killed. I broke my femur bone , got scratched up still have the scars, and had a small blood clot. I needed a couple of surgeries to the best of my knowledge. I had to stay in the hospital for about 4 months. Then I was put into a semi-full body cast for an additional 6 months. I missed all of kindergarten so I got held back a year. Ever since then I have been suffering from severe depression which is effecting my grades and social life.
My mom sued the man who hit us and the case was "closed". It was for 400,000 dollars which is in an annuity and i get it all when i m 35. I just turned 18 this January.
Is there any way I could reopen this case and sue because of my severe depression and leg pains ?
