Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Jersey

My father has given power of atty to his married girlfriend of 35 years (cheating on my mother and his wife the whole time)..when he finally passes away does she and her family make his funeral arrangements, or is it next of kin as the funeral diector indicated?

No on may act under a power of attorney once the person who created the power of attorney has died.
