Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York
I am applying to law schools. On the application, it says to list if I have any misdemeanor charges. I am not sure how to answer this question. A while back, I received a pink summons for 153.09, which is urinating in public. I went to court and the judge had me pay a $50 fine. Many sources online suggest that this is not a misdemeanor; it is just a violation. Is this a misdemeanor or violation? Should I expose this on my law applications? How do I check if this is on my record? Thanks for any and all help.

It is not a misdemeanor and if you were not fingerprinted, it should not show up. Carefully read the application and only answer what is asked. Do not volunteer information not speifically asked for.
