Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

Do not want to sell our house now

My husband and I were going to file for divorce, we have since changed our minds but have put our house on the market with a realtor. At this time we do NOT want to sell our home, we did sign a 6 month contract ''exclusive right to sell'' agreement with our realtor. Is there any way to get out of this agreement. If so how? What could be the penalties? I have read the contract and there isn't much information in it about the consequences of terminating the agreement? any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Do not want to sell our house now

If you get no bonafide offers, then there is no penalty. If, however, you do get bona fide offers to purchase though the realtor's direct or indirect efforts, then you will be liable for the commission such a sale would have generated to the relator. The contract language would control the matter.
