Legal Question in Immigration Law in Pennsylvania
I'm filing to renew my green card after my two years green card expired. My husband died on April, 2009. I have no idea about the tax return. Unfortunely, uscis is asking me to provide last year tax return. What should i do since they will deny my case if i can't provide it until middle of november. Please advice! Thank you very much!

Sorry about your husband's death.
I understand that you and your husband didn't file the tax returns with IRS for 2008? You filed the I-751 and received a RFE (request for evidence)? Have you filed taxes jointly for 2007, 2006? If yes, you can submit those tax returns and an affidavit explaining why taxes for 2008 were not filed.
If you or your husband worked or had some income in 2008, you must have filed taxes for 2008.

Are you able to find out the accountant your husband used and request a copy ofthe filing from him? Alternatively, you should be able to contact the IRS to obtain a copy, but it could take some time. Otherwise you should be able to provide an affidavit expaining your husband's death and your inability to retrieve the 2008 taxes.
