injunctive relief to keep working while litigation is pending

I have been sued for violating an employment contract. In that suit, it was also stated that I stole trade secrets and passed them out to my old employers customers. Even though my new employer said there was no competition and knew about the contract,they didn't want to fight my old employer. They then said that they didn't know I had an agreement. The result was that I got a $200.00/Phil.Lawyer who said I should file suit for defamation and breach of contract. I subsequently did this, but lost my job. I am now in the middle of this mess and have another job.

I feel that there is no competition and I definately have no trade secrets. The other lawyers won't provide proof and they are dragging their feet.

I need to work to fight this. I feel there is no competition and can prove it. I feel I should have the right to work in my field (as long as I don't dirctly compete), until I have my day in court.

How can I get an injunction to keep him from bothering me until we get to court? My lawyer got angry when I asked him the question. He said there is no basis in law that would allow me to get any kind of relief. Am I guilty of anything before I go to court?

Your lawyer pesumably knows all of the facts and can therfore give you the best advice. You might ask whether it would be possible to file a Declararory Judgment action to have a court determine the validity of the restricticve covenant. I cannot say whether you would be successful but it might be worth a try.
