There is no set time for a TPR other than the parent must be served with the papers and have 30 days to respond to the papers and you must be given 10 days notice of any hearing (unless an emergency). If you have been served with TPR papers I would suggest you meet with a local attorney to discuss your options. Once you are served with TPR papers you will be given notice of any hearings that are scheduled in your case. At these hearings you will be able to defend yourself against the action. You may qualify for an appointed attorney. To find out, talk to the Clerk of Court in the county the case was filed.
