Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
Full disclosure on puchased home
I purchased a home that had plumbing issues. The inspection report from the seller reported the issues had been repaired prior to the completed sale. The issues arose again within 6 months of the completed sale at which point a licensed plumber was called in to evaluate the situation. In the opinion of the plumber, the repairs disclosed to me where not done in a legal fashion with city permits and inpections to approve the repair, nor would the problems necessarily have been discovered on a home inspection prior to the sale.
In contacting the seller, the seller revealed prior knowledge of the nature of the repair. The seller is also a licensed realtor and member of National and Texas Associations of Realtors.
Given the lack of proper legal documention (permits) on the repair and the seller , being a realtor and therefore bound to a code of ethics determined by the NAR and TAR, as the buyer, do I have any legal recourse to pursue the seller for partial to full reimbursement for the repairs to be done by a licensed plumber?

Re: Full disclosure on puchased home
Probably. Depends upon where the seller is now located, and the cost to do it right.
