abandonment

my ex and i have never been married but have two kids one is 19 years and the other is 16 years we were separated for 15 years but tried to work things out we were together for 1 year and he just came home and got his clothes and left me to deal with the house payment of $1000.00 and all the utility bills and our kids which one is still a child of 16 years can i get him for abandonment ? here in the state of Texas thank you

Assuming from your description you never considered yourselves informally married; then you need to file what is called a Suit Affecting Parent-Child Relationship to establish your conservatorship rights, child support and visitation. If you were common-law married, then consider filing for divorce.
