Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in United Kingdom
is it legal for a debt collection agency to charge for phone calls and letters at �20 per call and make several calls a week and call them sundries on statements . i get these calls even though my circumstances have not changed from day to day. the charges average out at �60 to �80 monthly . I am paying this company an agreed amount each month and they are increasing how much i owe by these calls and over a period of 3 days recieved 5 calls for which they have charged me �100! thank you

You have no contractual arrangement with this debt collection agency which would enable them to charge for contacting you. Accordingly unless you agreed with the company to pay any costs of collection of money owed you have no liability for these costs.
