Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Expunging dismissed charges
My daughter was assigned a year of probation, alcohol abuse education and community service after having been charged with minor in possession of alcohol and public intoxication. She has completed the course and community service. At the end of the probation, the judge will likely dismiss the charges. How does my daughter go about getting the charges expunged? Does she need a lawyer to help with this, or is this something a layman can do?
