Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Virginia

dental office mistake

My husband called a dental office and asked if they accepted our insurance. They said yes, he made an appointment. He arrived there, gave a copy of our medical card and saw the dentist, after seeing the dentist the office manager told him our particular type of insurance wasn't accepted and told him he would have to pay for the services. He paid $200.00 and I am furious....They had a week to verify coverage and the time they made a copy of our card while he waited to be seen. They never said anything until after his visit. What can we do?
