Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

Divorce

I have been separated from my husband for two years. I want to divorce him and file for full custody of my daughter, but have not had the funds. I sacrificed 4 years of my life to assist him in achieving his goal of business ownership. He cheated on me by bringing another woman into my house while I was there. I am now dating someone and my attorney told me this would not interfere with custody issues as long as I did not have an affair before I left home. Is that correct? Also, is ist okay for us to live together - would the jeopardize the issue of custody? My husband vowed no one would ever get his wife and child so now he has drummed up child molestation charges on my friend. It is now going through investigation. My daughter has been examined and there are no signs of molestation. Should I refrain from seeing my friend until this is over? I know my daughter is to stay away while the investigation is pending.

Re: Divorce

I hate to contradict your lawyer, but it is my opinion that it is usually error to begin dating someone else - not to mention living with them - before the divorce is final.
