Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

As a landlord, can I brake a lease before the start date if no money has changed hands. Information has come to light that the soon to be tenants are grifters and I am about to get screwed bigtime. They have left other rental homes without paying and i am likely to lose anything I leave in the house. The house is in Walton county Florida. Thanks
